| When most people think of new product development they think of the activities, reviews, and procedures that define NPD.
This talk takes a different approach and instead looks at the people who undertake specific roles related to NPD. Our research has found that some
individuals sharpen a particular set of skills, and then participate in NPD in the same role over and over again. "Technical and Product Visionaries",
are those who conceive of breakthrough new products. We study these people, because they exhibit both creative and implementation skills and are not
only able to conceive new technologies and products but are also able to move them through the development process (technical visionaries) or into
the market place (product visionaries).
